What we collect and who we share it with, in plain English.
- We collect your account details, what you tell the AI team, the files and audio you give it, and the work it produces for you.
- To run the service we share your content with the providers that power it, like the AI models, web search, transcription, and email. They process it to do their part, nothing more.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't use your content to train AI models.
- If you publish a landing page that collects visitor emails, that data is yours. You're the one responsible for handling it lawfully.
- You can access, correct, or delete your data any time. Delete your account from your profile settings, or email us.

Who we are
Chatkin ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-powered product where a team of AI characters help you brainstorm and produce work such as documents, plans, and landing pages. For data protection purposes, Chatkin is the data controller for the data described in this policy, except where stated otherwise. You can reach us at hello@chatkin.ai.
What we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, and an optional short description of what you are working on (your bio). If you set an avatar, that too. We create an account identifier and an access token to keep you signed in.
Auto profile. If you complete the optional Auto setup, we store the answers you give (how you communicate, what you weigh when deciding, a short sample of how you talk) so the AI team can reply in your voice.
Your content. The messages you send, files you upload as reference material, images you share or generate, and audio you record for voice input. We also store the artifacts the team produces for you, such as documents, plans, mockups, and landing pages.
Usage information. We keep a per-chat record of billable actions, such as tokens used, searches run, images generated, and deliverables produced, so we can run, meter, and improve the service.
Waitlist. If you join the waitlist before you have an account, we store your email address and its status.
Information from pages you publish. When you publish a landing page through Chatkin and a visitor submits it, we store the email address and answers that visitor provides, on your behalf. For this data you are the controller and we process it for you. See "Pages you publish" below.
How we use it
- To provide the service: run your chats, generate responses, and produce and host the artifacts and pages you create.
- To keep you signed in and secure your account.
- To meter, maintain, debug, and improve the product.
- To contact you about the service, including waitlist updates and sign-in links.
We do not use your content to train or fine-tune AI models, and we do not sell your personal data. The third-party AI providers that process your content to generate responses do so under their own terms, described below.

To run the service we share data with providers that power specific features. Your content may be processed by these to generate responses or deliver the service:

Each provider processes data under its own terms and only to provide its part of the service.
Pages you publish
Chatkin lets you build and publish landing pages that can collect information from visitors, such as email addresses. For information collected through your published pages, you are the data controller and we act as your processor: we store it and make it available to you in your chat. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect it and for telling your visitors how it will be used. We are the controller for the rest of the data described in this policy.
Retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation. Usage records may be kept in aggregated or de-identified form. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or the waitlist closes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these by contacting hello@chatkin.ai. You can delete your account from your profile settings. If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Children
Chatkin is not for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country, including by the providers listed above. Where data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the date above. We will notify active users of material changes.
